The official reason by which they keep the original manuscript locked up is that Or. 3714 is one of the rarest items in the Persian collection and really does have to be guarded against overuse. But the truth is this: it has Frogs, inside. And these Frogs, as written in the Babur Nama, "though otherwise like others, run 6 or 7 yards on the face of the water". It is easy to assume that they are Sufi Frogs.

Vaqi'at-i Baburi

This is copy n° 680 of the printed edition of a manuscript of the Babur Nama, illustrated with outstanding miniatures. Printed in Samarkand (Uzbekistan) in 1969, it was bought by me [the cartoonist] in an antique shop in Kabul (Afghanistan) in 1975. The original manuscript, as I found out later, is kept in the United Kingdom, within a secret vault, well guarded by fierce Dragons.
